This Meeting Is Going To The Dogs!

By admin

Animal lovers are often straddled with high lodging bills for their four-legged companions while they are out-of-town on business trips. Really, is there any good reason why the well-behaved dog should not be allowed to attend your next business meeting or conference if he promises to sit quietly in his carrier?

Many of the larger American cities are pet-friendly today. Some airlines will allow small pets to travel in the cabin with their owners for a price, and hotels often do not mind charging the owner extra to have a pet in their room. Meeting planners are missing the boat if they are not including provisions for the professionals that prefer to travel with their companion.

Nobody is suggesting that a rabid pit bull on steroids be turned loose to destroy any meeting plans. Airlines, hotels, and state border check-points all require the pet to have papers showing a recent clean bill of health from a veterinarian, and a bill of sale from a flea bath provider so that the little pet friends are not traveling away from their home turf. Traveling pets are the pampered pets in our society.

Las Vegas, Nevada is an area that is set-up for traveling pets. Properly documented pets are required to be in a carrier or on a leash at all times in public. Pet-friendly bakeries and restaurants exist in the telephone directory right beside the telephone numbers for the doggie day care centers. San Diego, Dallas, and Tampa all have pet-friendly options, too. Pet owners will gladly pay extra for their companion to travel with them to meetings.
