More on Entertainment
Finding entertainment is really sort of easy when you think about it–pick up the phone and call an agency and tell them what you want, how much you have to spend, and the dates. Sign a contract. Piece of cake.
But what if your choices are not available? Then what? Staying with your theme is important, but it is not the be-all and end-all of meeting entertainment. While the agency can probably come up with ideas for you, you know your client best; maybe you can tailor your entertainment around the evening or theme anyway.
For instance, let’s imagine you had to settle for traveling jugglers when you really wanted living statues to do short performances related to the company. The jugglers may be able to do just about the same thing as the statues were going to do, just with tossing things to each other. And juggling is always a favorite subject among workers–perhaps the jugglers can create a skit by juggling appointment books, contracts, and perhaps even some things the audience suggests.
Here are some other ideas:
A comedy improve group that takes comments from the audience
A musical group that writes a few songs about the company and performs them
Professional storytellers (you can sometimes find them through libraries and save money)
With all the other creative entertainment ideas out there–mind readers, hypnotists, ice skaters (on plastic, portable ice), and singing catering staff–there will no doubt be something for your event. You just have to be creative yourself to find them.
