Live an Exciting Life as a Cruise Meeting Planner
A cruise meeting and/or event planner is a special job that only some people are suited to. The job can be exciting, but it also involves very serious aspects too. Those who can walk the fine line between playing hard and working hard can make a good living. Those who only want to be defined as ‘hardly working’ will probably need to look elsewhere for gainful employment.
Here is a summary of the skills that are necessary for a career as cruise meeting and/or cruise event planner.
The ability to separate work from play – Working in a place where people typically go to relax or kick back can be too much of a temptation for some. The other side of the coin is that some people are far too serious to work in an environment where others are attempting to reach a balance. Being able to do both when appropriate and know the difference is key.
Self-starter – Nobody can spend their time hovering around a meeting or event planner on a cruise, at least not without seriously regretting the wasted time. A successful meeting and/or event planner on a cruise should be tactfully directing others.
A good listener – everyone likes to talk, especially when they are relaxing. Excellent listeners are highly valued, and can learn about hidden needs or problems that might be occurring that are not common knowledge.
