Eco-friendly practices are becoming increasingly important in the meeting planning industry, so many more convention centers and hotel restaurants are making their menus sustainable, local and green.  Here are som tips for meeting and event planners for "greener" food and beverage options:

  1. Serving beef? Use pasture-fed beef, which is greener than grain fed
  2. Don't serve endangered fish.  You can find seafood watch listings on the Internet
  3. Offer smaller portions and fewer courses – three course meals rather than four courses
  4. Be creative – try something new such as a vegetarian lunch
