Cost-Effective Cruises
The recession and the economy’s slow-moving recovery has caused many companies to cut back on spending, particularly when it comes to corporate travel and meeting planning expenditures. With the new emphasis that has been placed on lowering costs without losing quality, meeting planners are put in a position to find the most effective ways to manage this precarious balance and to meet the demands of clients who still want it all, but for a lower price.
Resort venues are generally the most popular choices for meeting destinations; however, cruise lines can offer the same luxuries and enhanced amenities at a lower cost. Cruise events are sometimes assumed to be expensive and are overlooked by planners trying to stay within a tight budget, but once you become familiar with all that cruises have to offer and the cost-savings that they provide, you will be completely convinced that all of your clients should consider this cost-effective option.
The reason that cruises are so cost-effective centers on the difference between what is included in the price of a cruise and what is included in the price of a hotel room. When you host your event at a hotel, there are several extra expenses on top of the cost of the room for each attendee, such as food, entertainment, meeting space rental and equipment rental. However, when you opt for a cruise meeting, particularly an all-inclusive cruise line, use of meeting spaces and equipment, onboard entertainment and food are included in the price.
