Choose Your Cruise Destination Carefully
While it is true that a corporate cruise meeting or event can be a great idea, there is more to consider than that. The destination(s) and port(s) of call are all important considerations. Here are some tips to choosing the right cruise destination for your next cruise meeting or event:
- Alaska and other colder destinations – These are generally great for tourists looking for amazing vistas, but are in low demand by companies. This could mean great deals, but watching icebergs and whales is not as fun as limbo contests and fresh Mahi-Mahi.
- The Northern Caribbean – Unfortunately, many of the island nations in the Northern Caribbean are as famous as they are dangerous these days. A good rule of thumb is to stick to the Lower-Western Indies for topical getaways close to the U.S.
- Don’t forget the Pacific Rim – Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia all have some amazing cruise destinations, but they may be too far away for some to handle.
- To dive or not to dive – If participants are likely to enjoy diving, try the Caymans or virtually anywhere in the Bahamas, as the crystal clear water and unique diving encounters are unbelievable. A little break time during cruise meetings used for heavy-duty relaxation can recharge the mental-batteries of participants.
