Bluer Skies Ahead for Business Travelers
Further indicating that the economy is on the upswing, Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) is reporting that business travel showed a 5% increase in 2010 and is expected to increase
by an additional 5% for the coming year.
“Our research is ringing in the new year with reason for cautious optimism,” Michael W. McCormick, GBTA Executive Director and COO. He goes on to say, “2011 should also see a welcome recovery in the group travel market after a number of very difficult years. Companies are once again recognizing the value of face to face meetings with customers, prospects, partners and colleagues to build relationships and set the stage for top-line growth.”
With such an encouraging trend for the future, 2011 promises to be an exciting and busy year for meeting planners and business travelers alike.
