Are Cruise Meetings Cost Effective?
Cruise meetings sound like great ideas, but they also sound financially irresponsible at times. The question that many business managers and other powers-that-be will invariably come up with is: are cruise meetings cost effective? The answer to that question will depend on two major factors: alternatives and the goal.
The goal of most meetings is usually to make progress, but each company will define progress in their own way. Cruise meetings can be effective at helping organization achieve these progress in many situations, particularly when dealing with difficult parties and/or problems.
For example, getting multiple partners on a project to agree to an amicable resolution to their ongoing and bitter litigation might be far easier if the meeting took place outside the boardroom. Lawyers might still need to be present, but perhaps that could simply supervise a heated game of shuffle puck and the let the discussion carry on to a durable conclusion that could not otherwise be reached.
You may find that difficult situations are often far easier to resolve amicably during cruise meetings, and the added benefit is that meetings at sea tend to be a cost effective solution since cruising is all inclusive. Cruise meeting events typically offer cost savings of as much as 40 percent over land based venues because everything – meeting rooms, food and beverage, activities and entertainment are all included in one low price.
